August 9, 2004, New Jersey-New York: As the Republican National Convention approaches, members of The Poor People’s Economic Human Right’s Campaign (PPEHR), a coalition of organizations across the country, will march across the George Washington Bridge on Monday as part of the March for Our Lives campaign to raise visibility of the struggles faced by poor people in the United States.

The group of poor people and their advocates, who began marching earlier this month, will march throughout the state of New Jersey and into New York City in preparation for the Republican National Convention in late August.

The marchers will be traveling to poverty stricken areas across the two states toting a mobile “Bushville” tent city that they use to focus attention on the impact Republican economic policies have on the poor.
