REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION
PROTESTERS RELEASED FROM JAIL
New
York, NY - Members of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign
were released early Saturday morning after their demonstration in
Central Park which ended with four arrests. The arrestees were handcuffed
and chained to a metal pole from 8:30pm Friday evening until 1am
Saturday morning.
"Arresting
and handcuffing us for an entire evening will not deter us from
building a movement to end poverty and homelessness. We will continue
to fight to ensure that the voices of the poor are heard especially
in the days leading up to our "March for Our Lives" on
August 30th from the United Nations at 4pm."
