Bushville Erected in Jersey City,
New Jersey:

Day 2: June 2
BUSHVILLE VEHICLES TOWED

LEADER RUSHED TO HOSPITAL

After setting up the encampment in the rain the Bushville residents awoke to continued harassment by "Homeland Security" and the Jersey City Police Department.

Despite being legally parked, all of our Bushville vehicles (including one rented vehicle) were towed. The vehicles were towed shortly after we were told we had to leave the lot by 12 noon. One vehicle contained vital heart medicine for Bushville Organizer Liz Ortiz who had to be rushed to the hospital.

Today at the Bushville a lawyer, Leon Grauer, stepped forward to offer his services in protecting our first amendment right to protest for our basic human rights.

Our lawyer isrequesting an emergency meeting before a Jersey City judge with the following demands

  • Our Vehicles be returned TODAY
  • An immediate stop to the continued Police harassment

Please call/fax the Jersey City Police Department to express your support for our Bushville and the right to protest for basic human rights.

PLEASE CALL/FAX the Jersey City Police Chief and Demand that the Harassment stop.
