No Utilities
13,000 families recently recieved shut off notices from the Philadelphia Gas Works. The Kensington Welfare Rights Union is currently collecting documentation from families whose utilities have been shut off.

If you can help us help poor families stay safe by donating space heaters, blankets or money to help with utility assistance, please call out office at (215)203-1945. Your help is desperately needed and greatly appreciated.

Homelessness
We are overwhelmed with the number of families we are having to move into abandoned takeover houses. They have become homeless because Philadelphia has NO affordable housing.

The 5-year lifetime limit for public assistance has long passed in Pennsylvania. Over 12,112 people have lost their benefits for life. This means that these families have lost the only way to feed, clothe and house themselves. More than 70% of these families live in Philadelphia. 1/3 of these families were working.
